R COURSES FOR BIOINFORMATICS IN ARMENIA

Dr. Henry Loffler-Wirth, Junior Group Leader at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Bioinformatics, and Ms. Edith Willscher, PhD Student, will visit the Institute of Molecular Biology Yerevan, Armenia, from april 23rd to may 2nd. During this research stay, they will deliver two courses about scientific programming in R (one beginner’s course and one for advanced bioinformatics programming):

„R for bioinformatics – a beginner’s guide“

Workshop dates: 24 September- 26 September 2018

The course objective is to introduce R computing language to students and scientists interested in data analysis and bioinformatics. Course covers basics of R data types, syntax and main/popular biological data analysis packages.

„Scientific programming in R“

Workshop dates: 27 September- 28 September 2018

The course objective is to introduce participants with advanced statistical and machine learning techniques and approaches used in analysis of big biological data.

The courses will be held in English. Participation is free of charge. Upon completing the course all participants will receive certificates of participation. The workshop is conducted with support of the joint project „Cartography of pathogenic pathway states“ of the State Committee of Sciences MES RA (16GE-025) and German Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF) WTZ ARM II-010.
