DIGITAL LIFE SCIENCE

MOBILITY PROJECTS FOR GENOME-BASED HEALTH RESEARCH

.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project pursues the strategic goal of continuing and expanding the cooperation between the Interdisciplinary Center for Bioinformatics (IZBI) at Leipzig University and the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia in the fields of genome bioinformatics, biodata science and systems medicine.

The project will expand our methodological spectrum with a focus on signaling pathway analytics and machine learning and implement it in a range of biomedical applications. Furthermore, a data sharing repository will be established (Armeninan LifeBank), which will provide omics data for research projects in the context of systems immunology, molecular mechanisms of cancer and personalized medicine.

A central goal of DigitalLife is the promotion of young scientists on both sides through involvement in current research fields and through training and further education in the forward-looking fields of bioinformatics, systems medicine and biodata science. We will organize the joint implementation of research projects, the joint supervision of students and doctoral candidates, a structured qualification program and an international summer school in Yerevan in order to build a bridge between research in Armenia and Germany and beyond.
