Open position for Master / PhD

Computational agent-based modelling and AI for general application

Dr. Höhme research group

In recent years, relevance and prospects of AI-based systems have increased rapidly. Their ability to
predict the outcome of complex time-dependent systems often successfully competes with more
traditional methods of analytical and computational statistics and modelling.

Our research group has extensive experience in AI-based processing and quantification of data and the
construction of leading-edge computational agent-based models. We are planning to a) use, compare
and link both methods in a high-profile EU-project and b) study the generalisability of the methods to
other fields than biological or medical applications e.g. the socio-economical or ecological fields.

We are looking for a highly motivated person with a Master degree and previous experience in both,
the R language and agent-based modelling. Ideally, the candidate has already applied these methods
in previous projects. The offered position (TV-L E13) is starting at June 1st 2024. Part-time positions
and off-site/home-office days are possible. The position will be co-located at the Interdisciplinary
Centre for Bioinformatics (IZBI) and Centre for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence
(ScaDS.AI) in Leipzig.
